Responsibilities 

Chapter §46-2 of the Willistown Township Code. 

The Willistown Township Environmental Advisory Council (hereinafter referred to as the "Council") shall have the following duties and responsibilities: 

The Council shall have the following powers and duties: 

1.    to identify environmental problems and recommend actionable plans and programs to the Board of Supervisors for the promotion and conservation of natural resources and for the protection and improvement of the quality of the environment within Willistown Township.

2.    to develop and promote community-based programs designed to educate and inform Willistown residents and encourage their participation in environmental issues within the Township.

3.    upon request from the Board of Supervisors, Council may make recommendations related to, and compile documentation involving, open space and natural areas within Willistown Township. Council shall work with the Willistown Township Open Space Review Board to delegate assigned tasks.

4.    to implement a recycling program in conjunction with the Board of Supervisors as required by Act 101.

5.    to promote public interest in the work of the Council by implementing a public relations program and by other appropriate means.

6.    to assist the Board of Supervisors and other Township boards and commissions with environmental related efforts.

7.    Any other powers and duties authorized by local, state or federal law.
