Recycling Reminders

A few reminders from our Recycling Commission:

1) Always break up cardboard boxes to lie flat before recycling
 2) Rule for recycling plastic or metal lids: if they are less than 2” in diameter, throw them out. If they are larger, recycle them
 3) Never put recyclables in plastic bags! The bags clog the recycling mechanism and the whole operation has to shut down while sanitation workers risk their safety to climb onto the belt and remove the plastic.
